Stoke city striker Peter Crouch has said that he is extremely happy following the conclusion of the US pre-season tour for the club. Stoke city have gone on the tour of the United States this season after their first ever Europa league appearance.
The club will be playing a few pre-season friendly matches in the United States before returning for the start of the new season. Peter Crouch has said that he is extremely excited about the start of the season. The club finished in the 14th position last season and will be looking to improve on that.
They are currently in negotiations with the former Manchester United striker Michael Owen, who is available on a free transfer. The former Liverpool striker has also revealed that Stoke city would be his ideal destination because it is close to his home. Peter Crouch has said that he would certainly welcome the arrival of Michael Owen because he is a quality player. The former Tottenham striker has also said that it is extremely important that Stoke city concentrate on the few pre-season matches remaining to build their fitness ahead of the start of the new season. A number of the Premier league teams have been doing the tour of the United States this season.
“We come into these games having only been back for a couple of weeks now. So it’s about getting our fitness back and making sure we are ready for the Premier League season. The results don’t matter too much now but they do in the Premier League and we’ve got to make sure we’re ready. Tests like this, where we’re playing Sporting Kansas City, will be good for us and hopefully stand us in good stead when the season starts,” said Peter Crouch, whose side will face Reading on the opening day of the season.
