BACK IN ACTION

Peter Crouch is back in action with a bang. The 32 years old forward who had been warming the bench since the last one month or so was brought back into the Stoke line-up for the Capital One Cup game against Tranmere Rovers and he justified his selection with an impressive performance. He was one of the two goal scorers for Stoke in the game.

Talking to the reporters at the end of the match, Crouch said, “A goal is a goal, no matter when you score it, at the beginning or at the end.”

“My father came all the way from London to see this game and I am happy that he didn’t return disappointed.”
“I hadn’t featured in the last few games, but, I had in my mind that I might be starting this game. So, I was prepared for it.”

“I am thankful to Mark Hughes that he kept me on the field for the whole game. I enjoyed every single minute of my time out there.”

Apart from Crouch, the other two players who stood out for Stoke in the game against Tranmere were Marko Arnautovic and Stephen Ireland.

When asked about those two guys, Crouch said, “It’s nice to see the new signings doing well. Both of them are very talented and the club has big expectations with them.”
The win against Tranmere is Stoke City’s first win in the last 25 days. Out of their last 3 games, they had lost 2 and one was a draw.

When asked if this win will get his side going, Crouch said, “I hope so. We needed this win after having a couple of tough games this month. Our passing was superb today.”

Stoke City’s next match is against Norwich City. That match will be played at Britannia Stadium on Sunday.
