Peter Crouch started his career as a trainee at North London side Tottenham Hotspur, but he failed to make a single appearance for the first team. He was sent on loan to English team Dulwich Hamlet and IFK Hassleholm in the Swedish league before he signed for QPR. Peter Crouch spent one season at QPR before signing for Portsmouth in a £1.5m deal. He left QPR for Portsmouth after the London club suffered relegation.
In his debut season at Portsmouth, Peter Crouch scored 19 goals. He was on the move again after one season at Portsmouth. The Englishman joined Aston Villa in March 2002 in a £5m deal. He didn’t make the desired impact at Villa just like his Portsmouth spell and he was sent on loan to Norwich City in 2003. Crouch signed for Southampton permanently in 2004 and he was able to regain his form at the club before joining Liverpool one year later after 12 goals in 27 Premier League games.
Peter Crouch moved from Southampton to Liverpool in July 2005. At Liverpool, he won the FA Community Shield and the FA Cup in 2006 under the guidance of manager Rafael Benitez. He was also part of the Liverpool squad that lost 2-1 to Italian side AC Milan in the 2007 Champions League final. Crouch returned to Portsmouth in a deal worth £11m in 2008 after 42 goals in three seasons at Liverpool. In his second Portsmouth spell which lasted for just one season, he formed a potent strike partnership with Jermaine Defoe.
Crouch left Portsmouth to sign for Tottenham Hotspur after one season and he linked up with Defoe again at the North London outfit. He scored a goal against Manchester City to seal Champions League football for his team in his debut season following his return to Spurs. He also played for Stoke City and Burnley before the end of his career as a professional footballer.
