HOWARD READY FOR CROUCH

Since Tim Howard made his arrival to Everton, he has been a consistent starter for the Premier League club and the current campaign is no different as he is the preferred choice of Roberto Martinez.

Everton went through one of their toughest matches of the season as they travelled to Stamford Bridge in order to play against Chelsea and they suffered a 1-0 loss during the last few seconds of the match. If they could have secured a draw, then Everton could have seen themselves ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League standings.

Tim Howard had his work cut out as he made a number of saves throughout the entire match against Chelsea but at the 93rd minute, John Terry was able to put the ball past the American goalkeeper and despite being able to make 7 saves in the entirety of the encounter, it wasn’t enough for Everton to hold on to the draw.

It was a morale-boosting result for Everton and especially Tim Howard who was doing an impressive match and now John Terry’s header denied them the draw. Replays displayed the ball being knocked in by Howard as he seemed to push it into his own net.

John Terry is now odds on to make the England World Cup squad, according to the latest odds.

“We played really well, the first half in particular, we dominated the game. But you’ve got to score goals when you control games in that manner and that was our downfall in the end. To concede at the death from a set-piece is gutting really.” The Everton defender Leighton Baines said.

The victory puts Chelsea at the top of the Premier League while Everton are located in 7th place with 45 points, the same amount of points as Manchester United.
